Despite their valiant efforts, they were unable to keep up with the hot start of Pflugerville Hendrickson, falling 79-42 on Friday in College Station's Cougar Gym. The Lady Rangers finished the three-day tournament with a commendable 3-2 record, notching wins against Nacogdoches and Arlington-Seguin in pool play on Wednesday and A&M Consolidated on Thursday. However, their gold bracket ### to Hays on Thursday set the stage for their defeat against the Lady Tigers.
Although Rudder never led throughout the game, they showed impressive resilience, particularly in the early stages. Brandi Turner's 3-pointer brought them within one point with just over 5 minutes left in the first quarter, and they continued to fight, with Paris Mitchell's layup narrowing the gap.
