K-pop Shop In SF Helps Revive Sunset District Economy

SarangHello, a K-pop shop in San Francisco's Sunset District, has played a significant role in reviving the local economy. The store, run by Kevin Teng, Chesca Rueda, and Pip Reyes, opened as a pop-up in 2020 and has since grown tremendously. Now located in a brick-and-mortar store on 31st and Taraval, SarangHello has become a hub for K-pop fans in the Bay Area.

According to San Francisco Mayor London Breed, the store has contributed to an 8% increase in sales tax revenue in the Sunset/Parkside neighborhood since the pandemic.

The store's success can be attributed to its collaborative events within the Bay Area, new group comebacks, exclusive items, and fan sign events with K-pop artists.
