Norwich Free Academy (NFA) girls' basketball team is on a five-game winning streak, with their latest victory being a 42-27 win over East Lyme. The Wildcats started strong, taking a 10-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to a 3-pointer by Nevaeh Yorke and several steals and layups. Yorke, who took over the point guard position as a sophomore, led NFA with 12 points, including seven in the first quarter.
Despite East Lyme's efforts to catch up, NFA's quick start proved to be enough for the victory. The Wildcats are now 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I race, putting them in second place behind New London. Coach Courtney Gomez was pleased with her team's performance, particularly Yorke's poise and leadership on the court.
Overall, NFA's victory was a testament to their teamwork and ability to come together to achieve a common goal. With Yor [+]
