'ETHS girls basketball: Ransom reaches milestone in Evanston loss - Evanston RoundTable

Zuri Ransom scored her 1,000 th career point for Evanston's girls basketball team with 6 minutes, 10 seconds left in the second quarter Friday night at the Morton College Christmas Tournament.

Evanston endured a nine and one-half minute scoring drought in the second half and lost to Geneva by a 56-43 margin. The Wildkits took a 9-5 record into Saturday's 7 th place game against Butler Prep of Chicago.

The schedule for Evanston's girls basketball team this season represents a Who's Who among the elite teams in the state of Illinois this year.

The Wildkits have already played the favorite to win the Class 4A state championship this year – Bolingbrook – and they'll also visit one of the top challengers for the 3A title, Nazareth Academy, next month.
