K-Pop Stars To Headline BST Festival In London's Hyde Park

Image
K-pop sensations Stray Kids will headline the British Summer Time (BST) festival in London's Hyde Park on July 14, it was announced on Tuesday. This will be the group's first time performing at a UK festival, and they are "honored" to play in the same venue where many music legends have performed before them.

Stray Kids, who won the best K-pop award for their single S-Class at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, are excited to bring their energetic performances to the BST stage.

Andrea Bocelli will headline the BST festival on July 5, followed by Robbie Williams on July 6. Bocelli, an Italian tenor, has been a global music icon for over three decades, and his performance at the festival will feature a range of his hit songs.

Williams, who headlined the festival in 2019, will return with an array of hits from his two decades-long back catalogue as a solo artist. (Make sure to pop back for additional info.)

A road through Hyde Park is set to be closed to vehicles permanently as efforts continue to restrict traffic in London's green spaces.

A six-week online consultation opened on Monday on banning vehicles from South Carriage Drive seven days a week.

The road has traditionally been closed on Sundays. Since August 2020 it has also been closed on Saturdays and during the week on a temporary basis, mainly to prevent drivers coming into conflict with cyclists using the controversial Park Lane cycle lane.
