Women’s Sport Pulls In Record 46.7m UK Viewers On Linear TV In 2023

According to new research from the Women's Sport Trust (WST), a record-breaking 46.7 million people in the UK watched women's sport on linear TV in 2023. This represents a significant increase from previous years, with soccer still dominating the consumption of women's sport, accounting for 74% of viewing hours.

However, other sports such as cricket, rugby union, and golf are also gaining traction, with 15%, 5%, and 3% of viewing hours respectively.

The WST's research also found that domestic sport consumption on TV in the UK declined by 5% to 29.2 million people in 2023 from a high of 30.8 million consuming more than three minutes in 2022.
