Spain's equalities ministry has released a report titled "OnlyFans: The sex trade's whitewashed space," which highlights an increase in the number of unaccompanied minors and young women in shelters who utilize adult platforms, including OnlyFans, to escape marginalized situations and generate income. The rapporteur also expresses concern about the lack of accountability from OnlyFans regarding the posting of potentially illegal or non-consensual content, including hidden camera images.
Raquel Pérez, vice-president of the Young Women Federation, emphasized: "The OnlyFans narrative presents a new threat as it reaches young women through social media, "showcasing stories that trivialize and glamorize prostitution and portray it as empowering."" The report notes that 97 percent of OnlyFans creators are women... while almost the entire 238 million user base is comprised of men.
