Resch Discusses Toronto WNBA Team And Leadership Aspirations

According to The Athletic, Stacey Dales, a veteran broadcaster and former WNBA player, sat down with Teresa Resch to discuss her new role as president of the yet-to-be-named Toronto WNBA team, set to debut in 2026. Resch, who left her position with the Toronto Raptors earlier this year, played a crucial part in the construction and opening of the OVO Athletic Centre in 2016.

As Resch prepares to take on her new role, she emphasized the importance of representation and role modeling for girls and women. She cited current WNBA players, such as Caitlin Clark, and trailblazers like Tammy Sutton-Brown, "as inspiration and examples of women who have achieved success through hard work and dedication." Resch's own path to leadership began with her work with the Raptors... where she was frequently the sounding board for team owner Larry Tanenbaum.

Her experience has also prepared her for her next challenge... as she looks to bring the WNBA championship to Toronto.
