
Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister of Britain. He has inherited the office from former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. In his first speech, Starmer promised to steer the UK towards "calmer waters" during his tenure. The Labour Party, led by Starmer, won the election by a landslide, securing the largest majority in its history.
Starmer celebrated the victory in front of supporters at the Tate Modern art gallery in London, exclaiming "Change begins now. It feels good, I have to be honest." He then formally tendered his resignation to King Charles, before being asked to form a government. Starmer and his wife, Victoria, "entered Number 10 for the first time." Starmer has also announced his cabinet appointments... including Rachel Reeves as the country's first ever female Chancellor of the Exchequer.
