Sutton Residents Nostalgic For Local Cameo In 1980s Film Classic

The Residents of Sutton Recall a Famous Film A recent visit to the Sutton on Fifty-seventh Street in New York City brought back nostalgic memories of a bygone era for locals. The attraction was a film showing on the marquee, "A Little Romance", which featured an unsuspecting extra from Buckley School in a brief but memorable scene.

According to sources, including Mr. Hill, a former art teacher at Buckley School, he was recruited to play an extra in the film, where he appeared in the background of an early Parisian-café scene (The New Yorker). In the scene, he and a female extra were required to pretend to be engaged in deep conversation, despite speaking different languages.

To achieve this, Mr. Hill reported that they had to mime understanding and consume numerous cups of prop coffee, causing him to feel jittery and awkwardly bored. The cameo appearance by Mr. Hill was momentary... lasting less than a minute on screen. However, for those who remember the film, "his presence adds a fascinating layer of local history and personal connection to the story." For the residents of Sutton, "who have witnessed the area transform over the years.".. the opportunity to relive memories and connect with a piece of local cinema is a unique and treasured experience.
