According to a report by The New York Times (nytimes. com), Nensi Dojaka, a 31-year-old Albanian designer, is making a triumphant return to the London fashion week calendar with the help of Calvin Klein. This collaboration marks a significant departure from her previous approach, where she had chosen not to participate in fashion week due to the high costs and instead focused on restructuring her company.
Dojaka's focus on in-house sales and distribution operations has allowed her to invest in her brand rather than showcasing it on the runway. This strategic move has given her the freedom to prioritize her design aesthetic, which is characterized by an avant-garde approach to lingerie. Her designs are known for being sheer and architectural, with minidresses that are abstract and skintight.
However... Dojaka eschews the term "sexy," instead opting for "feminine and edgy" to describe her style. Calvin Klein's global brand president, Eva Serrano, has admiration for Dojaka's modern aesthetic, citing that there is "nothing traditional" about it. This contrast in style is highlighted by Calvin Klein's classic underwear line, which features sporty elasticized sets made famous by provocative advertisements.
Dojaka's designs, "But then," "are distinctly different and geared towards a more refined audience." The collaboration between Dojaka and Calvin Klein is set to debut on Saturday at London Fashion Week... with the Nensi Dojaka spring collection and the Calvin Klein collaboration integrated into the show.

Nensi Dojaka has achieved fashion's rising-star trifecta: the prestigious LVMH Prize, which she won in 2021 ; celebrity patronage from the likes of Zendaya and Bella Hadid ; and rumors flying that she was in contention for top jobs at major fashion houses. She has focused instead on restructuring her company — bringing her sales and distribution operations in-house — and sparing herself the high expense of participating in fashion week.
