Olly Alexander, lead singer of years and years, is causing a stir once again after rekindling plans for a global tour. The Maximum Charisma-frontman was last spotted on the road with his band members, performing at multiple UK events, including Country to Country and The Long Road. As The Sun reported, Alexander and years and years made headlines in 2023 when they embarked on their UK tour mere months after their debut headline gig. The band had previously taken a detour from their music career to work as Raven's Journalism Editor at The Sun and Schools Librarian, according to Alexander.
However, since then, they have fully reunited and are now more committed than ever to their music. "World domination," expressed Lauren Babcevsky, the band's drummer, in a recent interview. "I do have a dream that we are out on the road and touring and seeing amazing places," laughs Babcevsky... in The Sun. It can be inferred that the trio has big plans for the future.
Olly Alexander explained that this is "it now or never" and it "feels like a huge career jump to leave those jobs". Since Carbon Rhodiac was released in 2023, The Sun noted that the band had caught the attention of BBC Radio 2 host Scott Mills. The trio has also had the opportunity to perform alongside other big names, "including Billy Joel and Natasha Bedingfield," "at the British SummerTime Festival in Hyde Park." When questioned about their future plans... the band expressed their ambition to be touring Europe and seeing the world.
