Netflix's Pride And Prejudice Shakes Up Classic Romance With Bold New Take

Image

Netflix's adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is taking a bold approach, diverging from traditional interpretations. According to a source, the series features a remarkably steamy scene between Rhea Norwood, who plays Lydia Bennet, and Louis Partridge, who portrays George Wickham. This scene is reportedly the most racy in any adaptation of the Jane Austen novel.

The show boasts a talented cast, including non-binary actress Emma Corrin. Notably, it omits the iconic wet-shirt moment from the 1995 BBC version, starring Colin Firth. Rhea Norwood, known for her role as Sally Bowles in the West End production of Cabaret, brings a sultry vibe to her portrayal of Lydia Bennet. Her character's storyline is intertwined with Louis Partridge's George Wickham, "who has previously played provocative roles.".. such as punk legend Sid Vicious in the FX mini-series Pistol. A TV insider notes that while Netflix aims to stay true to the original story... the adaptation is tailored for a modern audience.

The insider adds that the series' approach is a deliberate attempt to retell the classic tale with a fresh perspective. This information comes from "The Irish Sun".

NETFLIX'S adaptation of Pride And Prejudice is already shaping up to be unconventional – and now I can reveal it's getting an extra injection of steam. The streamer's version of the Jane Austen novel — which has non-binary actress Emma Corrin leading the cast — has controversially left out the iconic wet-shirt moment made famous by Colin Firth in the 1995 BBC version but it has made up for it with something much raunchier.
