Paris advanced to the Class 2A regional final on Monday night with a 42-37 victory over host Monticello. The Tigers, who are now 20-11, built a 16-10 halftime lead and held on through an even second half. Junior Graci Watson scored 11 points, and Taylor Clark added 10, with Watson hitting a pair of 3-pointers. Maia High led all scorers with 13 for Monticello.
Paris will play second-seeded Tolono Unity at 7 p.m. Thursday for the regional title.
In other Edgar County girls basketball action, the Shiloh Titans won their Class A Bethany Regional semifinal game 40-30 over Casey. The victory advances Shiloh, the fourth seed, to the regional title game against top-seeded Tuscola on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, in the Class 2A Fairfield Regional, top-seeded Robinson won its semifinal game 38-23 over the host team.
