Heroin And Cocaine Trafficking

In a peculiar turn of events, a topless selfie led to the dismantling of a multi-million pound criminal scheme, as reported by the Daily Mirror. Anthony Dean and William Swann, the masterminds behind the operation, had been using encrypted communications to facilitate the trade of substantial quantities of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis.

Their online handles, "octojam" and "OctoRain," respectively, were used to conceal their identities as they discussed and negotiated deals. However, it was their careless sharing of personal images that ultimately exposed them. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when hairdressers were forced to close, Dean and Swann exchanged pictures of their unkempt hair, providing Merseyside Police with the crucial evidence needed to bring them to justice.

According to prosecutor Matthew Conway, the pair had the ability to source and supply large quantities of illicit substances from imported consignments. The conversations and notes found on their accounts, which were discovered as part of Operation Venetic, revealed the sheer scale of their operation. The messages showed their involvement in discussions concerning deals for 13. 5kg of heroin, 13kg of cocaine, and 62kg of cannabis.
